DROP-IN SESSIONS (TO FINISH PROJECTS)
Wednesday – Friday, 9am-12pm at the Community Art Hub
This art project includes two activities for young people aged 12 -25 to jump into:
1. Our Stories in Voice: Participants are invited to tell their story, their way, whether it’s through writing, spoken word, poetry, or short stories. Themes and words from the studios will be transformed into two powerful songs by West Australian Opera, turning up the voices of LGBTIQA+ young people from regional WA.
2. Flags in Motion: Participants are invited to design and create a personal flag that reflects their pride, story, and sense of identity. These individual flags will be sewn together to form a large-scale collaborative artwork, symbolising unity across distance and difference.
Grant funded by North Midlands project with support from Healthway. This is part of the YOUnity studios which are coming to Carnarvon as a collaboration between Shire of Carnarvon, North Midlands Project, and the Australia Museums and Galleries Association, proudly partnering with Healthway using the SEW-Arts framework to foster healthy, connected, and vibrant creative communities.
